And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.
As you finally turn off the light and roll wearily into bed every night, do you ever think about the billions of people who are just starting their day? Do you ever consider the fact that as you sleep, millions of other people will be experiencing the same trials and challenges that you faced during your day?
Skin colors, climates, altitudes, foods, languages, family structure, dwellings, financial status - these aspects may be completely different but yet we all have so much in common. We are all human beings who suffer from stress, loss, heartache, illness, family and depression and so much more.
We all live in a fallen world.
Most importantly, we all need God's grace to make it through another day.
When you attend church on Sunday morning do you ever think about the hundreds of millions of people who have already attended church or are going to? Do you ever imagine the hundreds of millions of hands being lifted up in sanctuaries, houses, huts, fields, conference rooms, and prisons around the world?
It is too easy to become consumed by our own little world. How easily we forget our brothers and sisters around the globe.
It is true that we will never meet 99.9% of them. They will not even know that we exist.
But the Lord sees us. He sees them. His Spirit unites us as one and He wants us to pray for each other.
So pray for God's blessings and mercies upon your Christian brethren in other parts of the world. Think about them often and be encouraged.
You are not alone. God is faithful to all who call upon His name.
